Lungern Butterfly Trail

In the Eldorado of butterflies

The hike on the scenic high path over the Dundelegg runs through an area that is extremely rich in butterflies. It begins at the Turren cable car mountain station, leads via Feldmoos and Juch to Bürglen and ends in Kaiserstuhl.

Countless butterflies dangle dreamily over the dry meadows on the sunny slopes of the Lungernsee. Nowhere else in Switzerland have so many different butterfly species been counted as here. The “Butterfly Trail” is dedicated to this ecological wealth. Many of the butterflies that live here are presented on the 17 information boards along the nature trail. You will receive information about the most species-rich butterfly area in Switzerland.

The hike is also recommended because of the magnificent view, the varied landscape and the diverse flora and fauna. On the high path over the Dundelegg you can enjoy a clear view of Pilatus and Stanserhorn, as well as Lake Sarnen and Lake Lucerne.

The hike is well signposted in the area with Schweiz Mobil Rute 575
